Classic Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

 



Ingredients:

  • 200g spaghetti
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  3. Add the sliced garlic and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper, then toss to combine.
  5. Drain the spaghetti, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  6. Add the cooked spaghetti to the pan with the garlic oil and toss to coat, adding a bit of reserved pasta water if needed.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with Parmesan if desired.
